Graduate and Professional Programs

Choosing a graduate or professional program can be a time-consuming task! With the advent of on-line and distance education, students can choose from a wider range of institutions and programs than ever before.

The reference collection at the College Info Center includes a variety of print resources on graduate and professional education, career opportunities and financial aid to assist you with the planning and application process. Many web resources are also available to help you gather information and investigate educational programs and funding sources.

Locating sources of funding for graduate and professional schools is frequently an issue for potential students. Although a variety of print and electronic resources are available to help students search for private sources of funds, we encourage students to discuss their needs with faculty, advisors and other students within their chosen academic department. Many assistantships, internships or research opportunities are administered by individual institutions and departments rather than outside sources. Similarly, students should always discuss funding opportunities with the financial aid staff at the college they plan to attend. Financial aid professionals are familiar with the resources available on their own campus and are frequently familiar with other sources that may be helpful for students who need additional funds.

Our More Resources section contains some links to other web sites that provide information about graduate and professional schools and admission tests.
