Early College Awareness

It's never too early to start planning for college! The CIC sponsors two programs designed to assist middle and high schools students and their families with preparing and planning for higher education.

Kids to College involves partnerships between local colleges and middle or junior high schools. College students from the partner schools work with 6th or 7th grade students to facilitate a series of activities to encourage greater career and college awareness.

Educational Talent Search is one of the federally funded TRIO programs that assists low income, first generation middle and high school students with preparing for and enrolling in postsecondary education. The CIC Talent Search program serves 600 students in five D.C Public middle and high schools.

Links included in More Resources highlight other web sites and initiatives that may be helpful for students, parents or staff who work with middle school students.
