Volunteer/Graduate Intern - College Advisor

Interns or volunteer advisors may:
  1. Provide basic information about college, career and financial aid opportunities to young people and their families.
  2. Assist visitors with using print and computerized resources to identify schools and programs that match their interests and needs.
  3. Assist visitors with the decision-making process, helping them evaluate options and determine appropriate choices.
  4. Facilitate brief orientation sessions for small groups of students to help them become familiar with CIC resources and services.
  5. Assist students with completing admission and financial aid applications. 
Qualifications: Experience and/or academic training in providing college, career and financial aid advising/counseling. Knowledge of and sensitivity to working with diverse populations. Ability to make a minimum commitment of 2-4 hours per week for 6 months. Bilingual skills a plus!
