Interns or volunteer advisors may:
- Provide basic information about college, career and financial aid
opportunities to young people and their families.
- Assist visitors with using print and computerized resources to identify
schools and programs that match their interests and needs.
- Assist visitors with the decision-making process, helping them evaluate
options and determine appropriate choices.
- Facilitate brief orientation sessions for small groups of students
to help them become familiar with CIC resources and services.
- Assist students with completing admission and financial aid applications.
Qualifications: Experience and/or academic training in providing
college, career and financial aid advising/counseling. Knowledge of and sensitivity
to working with diverse populations. Ability to make a minimum commitment
of 2-4 hours per week for 6 months. Bilingual skills a plus!
