Training and Technical Support
The Greater Washington College Info Center offers a variety of services
to assist schools, community based organizations, churches and similar groups
enhance their college preparation activities.
Information Materials
We have designed our print and electronic materials as resources that are
available to anyone with college, career and financial aid questions. Many
of our information
sheets are available as .pdf files that can be downloaded
from our web site and copied as needed.
Many advisors and counselors use the links on our website as their portal to other postsecondary planning
sites.
Site Planning and Training
We have provided assistance to many other organizations interested in starting college resource centers or expanding college preparation services. Some of these services are grant-funded and others are supported by fees from the host organization. Sample services include:
- Recommendations for purchased materials for college resource collection
- Consultations on site planning, staffing, organization of resources, furniture and equipment purchases, data collection, logistics and related topics.
- Training on specific college prep topics for advisors and volunteers
- Training on use of electronic college, career and financial aid resources.
