PARENTS

Senior Parents: Tips for completing the financial aid application process.
For parents of seniors,  the paperwork may seem endless. Not only do you need to help your child complete financial aid applications but most financial aid professionals encourage parents to file their income tax forms as early as possible to facilitate the financial aid application process. If it seems as if the forms have taken over your life, here's help!

For those who need assistance with completing tax forms, volunteers are available to help DC residents at the MLK Library until April 15. Hours are: Tuesday - Thursday - 4:30-8:30, Saturdays -10:15 - 4:30, Sundays -1:15 - 4:00. Services are offered free of charge on a walk in basis.

Is your child applying for the DC Tuition Assistance Grant? If so, you'll need to provide a certified copy of your completed DC Tax form. (If you don't file taxes, other types of documents may be provided to prove residency). Certified copies of DC tax forms are provided by the DC Tax office for a fee of $5.00. You can request a copy in person or fill out and mail Form CS-001.  A copy of the form can also be downloaded from the web site for the DC Tax and Revenue Office
